I have tens of thousands of photos — will that work?

Yes, though expect it to be slower and to need splitting. A large account takes longer to import and rebuild, and any period of more than a year or two will run past the 500-page limit. The usual approach is a volume per year: set the range to one year, order it, then move to the next. Picture Size set to Small also fits considerably more into each book.
