I unticked posts and closed the window — did I lose that?
Yes — if you closed the window without pressing Validate, those changes were discarded. Validate is what applies them; the cross and the Escape key throw them away. Watch out for Escape in particular: it closes the whole window rather than just an open dropdown, which catches people out mid-edit. Reopen Edit content, redo the month, and press Validate.
