The pages in my preview are blank
Almost always a page that has not finished rendering. Wait a few seconds and it fills in, or move away and come back to it. If pages stay blank across the whole preview, close it, reload the page and open Preview again. A genuinely empty book is a different matter — you would also see the yellow warning that there is not enough information to print.
